Fusion Breeze

The tribal and Fusion Bellydance Festival in Ghent (BE)

Fusion Breeze/ Freeze is a small independent tribal fusion bellydance festival in Ghent, Belgium. It was founded in 2015 by Teuta to promote tribal and fusion bellydance in Belgium, and to give dancers of all levels a stage to shine on. Connecting Tribal fusion belly dancers and dance lovers of all ages, nationalities and levels, encouraging diversity and building bridges between different cultures and countries, the Fusion Breeze / Freeze Festival has become a crossroad where national and international dancers, dance lovers, teachers, choreographers and troupes are gathered twice a year . The festival aims to be a cozy, friendly and personal place where everyone feels welcome and knows each others name. Next to connecting dancers, the festival strives to give dancers more body awareness, by programming different movement and bodywork workshops, like yoga and massage workshops.

This year it's time for the 4th edition of Fusion Breeze, and we will make it a special one! We have a beautiful international teacher team, with guest teachers from the USA, France and Belgium. We have a varied workshop program for you with a glam accent: from tribalesque to inner glow, and from glamourous sword to photoshoot, you will find it all at this years' Fusion Breeze. Next to the workshops we also have a wonderful show on Saturday evening. So a full program this year. Don't miss out!

Workshop 1

Glamourous Sword:

Pin-up, Swing & Sword

Teacher: Coralie (BE)
Saturday May 19th | 12.00 - 14.00

Step into a new universe of humour and sensuality... armed with a sword! We will make this sharp object an ally of charm. In this workshop we will go back in time for some swing inspired moves, which we will mix up with tribal fusion and sword dance basics. Coralie will share her unique insights to add a touch of glamour to our dance: position of the feet and the work of the tips, importance of the hands, and last but not least humour. To truly understand the glamorous feel we will also spend some time on the theatrical aspect in our dance and how to use the sword in a comical and glam mode. We will incorporate all that we have learned into a very short glamorous cabaret choreography.

(Don't have a sword? No worries, there is a possibility of lending a sword from Coralie)
