Fusion Breeze

The tribal and Fusion Bellydance Festival in Ghent (BE)

Fusion Breeze/ Freeze is a small independent tribal fusion bellydance festival in Ghent, Belgium. It was founded in 2015 by Teuta to promote tribal and fusion bellydance in Belgium, and to give dancers of all levels a stage to shine on. Connecting Tribal fusion belly dancers and dance lovers of all ages, nationalities and levels, encouraging diversity and building bridges between different cultures and countries, the Fusion Breeze / Freeze Festival has become a crossroad where national and international dancers, dance lovers, teachers, choreographers and troupes are gathered twice a year . The festival aims to be a cozy, friendly and personal place where everyone feels welcome and knows each others name. Next to connecting dancers, the festival strives to give dancers more body awareness, by programming different movement and bodywork workshops, like yoga and massage workshops.

This year it's time for the 5th edition of Fusion Breeze, and we will make it a special one! We have a beautiful international teacher team, with guest teachers from Argentina, France and the Czech Republic. We have a varied workshop program for you: from ATS to Tango Fusion to ITS. You will find it all at this years' Fusion Breeze. Next to the workshops we also have a wonderful show on Saturday evening, and an improvisational party jam on Sunday. So a full program this year. Don't miss out!

Shedriel (AR)

Shedriel is an Argentinian bellydance teacher who is best known for her focus on precise technique and facial expression. She graduated from Saida’s School in 2013, and since then studied with many teachers such as Erika Gonzalez, Mardi Love, Mira Betz, Ariellah, Lady Fred, Sharon Kihara, Michelle Sorensen, Ashley Lopez and Kami Liddle. Next to tribal, she also studied romany dances with Joana Gea(Spain), flamenco with Valerie Romanin(France), Persian dance with Miriam Peretz (Israel) and Central Asian dances with Simona Jovic (Serbia), and she also studied the lovely Tango Fusion with Shahdana(Argentina). In 2017 and 2018, she travelled to dance, teach and take workshops in Chile with Rachel Brice, Tamarind and Kae Montgomery. Shedriel is a level 1 certified teacher of Kae Montgomerys' "Tribal Style Technique Clinic". In September 2017 she travelled to Indonesia to take part in a Theatrical Dance Play called “Swan Lake” and also she danced and taught workshops. Besides, she continues teaching along her country Argentina and teaching at her School in her local city, Rosario.

Lenka (CZ)

Lenka is a long-time professional dancer from the Czech Republic. A few years ago, she started studying with the Salimpour School under the mentorship of the one and only Suhaila Salimpour. Lenka currently holds Level 3 certificates in both Suhaila and Jamila formats. She participated in all 4 European shows of Bal Anat, the longest running belly dance troupe which gave birth to tribal dance.

Lenka is also a FCBD® Sister Studio, teaching ATS® for over 8 years. She is a proud artistic director of Hurriya tribe, an ATS troupe of 16 beautiful dancers.

She loves sharing through dance and as a very passionate and generous teacher, she holds the philosophy that is teaching is learning.

Moona Khilanã (FR)
Moona discovered Bellydance in 2006, after 12 years of studying music at the conservatory. Thanks to Blandine from the Smoky Eyes company, she comes across Tribal Fusion for the first time in 2008, and a whole new world opens to her then. She multiplies workshops and fusions, working with Ilan and Imajaghan company for a couple of years, travelling to multiple festivals, among the biggest Tribal Fest and Tribal Umrah, expanding her knowledge until she started teaching in 2014. Among her main inspirations, she decided to take the Improvisational Tribal Style Teacher Certification with Unmata, and is now a Level 4 certified teacher. Always happy to share her knowledge, insights and tricks to listen to music, live it and dance it. It will be her very first time in Belgium, as a teacher but also as a traveller 🙂 !

Find out in this unique workshop by Argentinan Tribal Fusion dancer Shedriel. We will start of with some Tango fundamentals: arm positions, foot patterns, transitions. And of course ... The walk! No other dance style does so much walking as tango does. In fact: One's walk defines one's tango. But don't be fooled, a walk in Tango is not just a walk: it is all the fundamentals wrapped in one: posture, musicality, balance, stability, flexibility, communication, elegance and harmony. In the second part of the workshop we will have a look at what happens when we mix these Tango fundamentals with our beautiful sinuous tribal fusion bellydance movement.  Awaken the tribal tango goddess in you.
